How to be the next HP scan software engineer
How do you get hired as a software engineer?
That’s what the latest job postings for the HP Scan software engineer position are offering.
The job posting reads that HP has created a new “scan software engineering” position, with the aim of filling “potential positions that require scanning software for HP.”
The job is advertised as being for “scanning software engineers” who are “experienced in building, maintaining, and testing systems for HP, Dell, and other leading consumer products.”
That sounds like a lot of software engineers, right?
The job description for the “scan” position also says that the candidates should be able to work on HP’s current and future scanners and/or HP ScanJet line of products.
The candidates would have to have “strong knowledge of HP and related products and technologies” and have “the ability to perform the required duties of a scanning software engineer, including: developing and maintaining software for scanners, software engineering, and customer support,” the job description reads.
That sounds like an odd position for an “engineer” who might need to be able code software to help with the scanning process, right?!
But hey, HP is trying to hire more software engineers in an attempt to stay competitive with its bigger competitors.
The company has been hiring for software engineers for a while, as we reported earlier this year.
It started hiring for “software engineers” in 2010, and it continues to hire for “engineers” now.
The job description also includes some interesting information about the company’s software: HP has been rolling out a slew of new, cutting-edge products over the past few years, and the new Scan software engineers would be the first to get them.
